The following mailorder guidelines are some of the principles to which we adhere. For your own security, you should make sure that any mailorder company you deal with also adheres to these guidelines:

1.) Whether you order by mail or by telephone, be sure to confirm the exact price before you place your order.

2.) Keep a record of your order and get the name of the person to whom you are speaking. When they know that you have their name, they tend to conscientiously follow through with your order.

3.) What is the company's policy if you receive a defective movie? Do you have to send it back at your expense? Or will they pick it up at their expense? (We, of course, pick up any problem orders at our expense.)

4.) If you ever receive damaged, incorrect, or poor-quality extended-play videos, contact the company as soon as possible -- don't wait! Get it resolved while you still have recourse. Many companies will give you an RA # (Return Authorization Number) which should be put on the outside of the package.

We as a company will never sell a movie on extended-play. This recording mode makes "acceptable quality" an impossibility. Watch out for the sales gimmick 4 movies for $19.99. It's a 2 hour tape on which they've squeezed 6 hours of poor quality blurry movies. Don't accept garbage! Get your money back!

5.) Important! Never send cash! Pay by check or money order or with a credit card so that you will have a record of your transaction. If the video company does not accept credit cards, you should wonder why: Have they just gone into business? Or, were they dropped by all of the credit card companies for some "unknown" reason?

"WHAT? NO ADDRESS???"
Hey, I may just be a pretty blonde, but even I know that if these cyber-flakes don't have a real address, then you're probably e:mailing your credit card to a prison!!! And, even if you do get an address, be very wary of one with a suite number that has 16 digits!

Even though it is presently very hard to do decent graphics within the confines of the prison library, pretty soon, with the help of bleeding-heart sympathizers, murderers and rapists will be granted "equal rights" to continue their life of crime within the prison walls.

Remember: If they don't have an address, don't give them your money!

1.) Allow 30 days for receipt of order or delay notification -- since we're the only video company with the famous order it today, ogle it tomorrow instant service.

2.) Contact the mailorder firm in writing, stating what movies were ordered, the price and date of the order, and also the reason for your complaint. Include proof of payment (copy of canceled check showing both sides, credit card statement, etc.). Please be sure to keep the original copy for your records.

3.) Allow two weeks for a response from the mail-order firm.

4.) If your complaint is still not resolved, contact the following agencies (Be sure to include copies of your correspondence with the mail-order firm):

a.) Direct Mail Marketing Association
Mail Order Action Line
6 East 43rd Street
New York, NY 10017

b.) Your local Postmaster

c.) Your state Consumer Protection Agency

d.) Your local Better Business Bureau

e.) Your state Attorney General's Office

f.) Your credit card company. -- If you pay by credit card, you have a greater measure of recourse in the event the mailorder firm does not perform as promised. Frequently the credit card companies will work with you to force the mailorder firm to either comply or refund your monies. If there are continuing complaints against a mailorder firm, if they show a pattern of unfair or improper dealings, the credit card companies will automatically drop them.

g.) The Internet! -- If you were taken advantage of by a company that advertises on the Internet, be sure to contact the search engines that list this company -- such as YAHOO, LYCOS, WEB CRAWLER, etc. Just as with the credit card companies, if there are continuing complaints against a mailorder firm, if they show a pattern of unfair or improper dealings, these Internet search engines will automatically drop them.

If you do all of the above, I guarantee you that the mailorder firm will rue the day they tried to treat you unfairly!

An update...

If you have a complaint with a company that you do not have the time or energy to pursue any more or have just run into a stone wall; there are several new firms on the Internet that will help you to pursue your complaint. Be sure to check them out:

Complain.com pleads your case for a fee:

Many users of these sites have seen very positive resolutions to problems that they had all but given up on. Most companies will settle quickly after being contacted by one of these sites, as they do not want the bad publicity that can come with a prolonged battle over what is often a nominal amount of money for the company.

Please be sure to send a copy of this information to your Internet friends so that they also will know whom to contact when the going gets tough.

Love,
Virginia Beaver
